“Nothing is so hideous as an obsolete fashion”. Stendhall couldn’t have said it better, a statement which we vehemently agree when it comes to the world of working clothes. I for one, personally, am quite dulled (aesthetically and mentally) by the sight of an ill tailored black working pants and haphazardly thrown white blouse. An a trip down to tailors would definitely burn a hole in the pocket. Our solution: Accessorize!!! As the saying goes “When a man is once in fashion, all he does is right.” (Lord Chesterfield). We couldn’t agree more!. Below are five inspiration tips and takes of how to work the suite to an edgy funk.
Inspiration : Jennifer Aniston in a black suit wearing a gold long necklace, keeping it in style.
The Critics: A suite to the Oscars/!?!? Sure, the suite was a mismatch for the occasion, But second lookers would note the brilliant luster of the suite and the rich color contrast between the deep black colour of the suit and the shiny bling bling golden necklace. We call it a winner.
Tip 1: Color contrast provides a powerful and great way to highlight your style When wearing a black formal coat, *esp. if it’s a dressy silhouette or cut, you could go the end of the color spectrum i e. bright contrasting colors like gold or silver. Try to go for accessories with a matte finish (if there is such an option). For a much subtler style, try sparkly jewelleries of a darker color like the Luminescent Green.
Tip 2: The blazer
Blazers are much more formal and structured. This means that you would want to soften look slightly, without, sacrificing the structured look of the suit. a) Long multilayered necklaces are typically colorful, visually appealing and noticeable. So it always helps if they are the main centre of your outfit. For maximum star-effect, a singlet, bilowy skirt with/without acardigan is the staple bohemian essential.
b) Bold coloured gowns are also a perfect heavenly match with sparkly colorful long chains.
c) Always make sure their your outfit does not create clutter or overwhelms your outfit (avoid prints at all cost!)
d) Plain outfits like summer dresses and tunics, no frill outfits like tube tops are a great way to flaunt long necklaces.
e) For an edgier outlook, a pants/jeans and boots combo will definiely that boost. Another great wear to top it all off is a semi-formal coat.

Chica Mohica is essentially a fan of fun, comfortable and glamorous items all women ( and girls too!) should have. At the moment, we have zeroed in on the multi layered long chunky (not really) necklaces and we think they look great especially on plain bold understated outfits.
